Abstract:
1. Introduction: Motive;
objects and methods.
In the research of protecting women's rights, there is special meaning
to study the phenomenon of women's going out in minorities committees.
By using the methodologies of anthropology of law and sociology, we
did fieldwork in several minorities' villages in Yunnan province. We
hope the investigation will supply some material evidences for the research
of feminism. By comparing the reasons of women's going out in different
minorities' villages, influences and problems followed, we tried to
make some suggestions to improve women's rights.
2. Summarization of the three
villages' natural condition, situation of economy and female's status
(1) Ping'an Village; (2) Mankesong Village; (3) Heilongtan (a community
of Dai people).
3. Comparison of cases of
women's going out in different villages
(1) Marriage: a choice of happening to coincide;
(2) Trafficking: an awkwardness that can't be avoided.
(3) Culture of village: an exerting subtly influence
4. Conclusion: Standing on
the GAD (Gender And Development) theory
There are two kinds of value judgment during our research. Firstly,
governmental valuation, keep stabilization of local community is the
most important thing. Secondly, individualistic valuation, ensure each
woman's security is the core problem. The former does not care women,
so it should be put away; the latter is actually the judgment of WID
(Women In Development) theory, but it may lead to make idealist policies.
If we change to use the theory of GAD, things may be better.
The premise and base of our opinions about women's going out is: It
is women's inherent rights that they are willing to leave their homeland,
choose to reside and live in another place. Neither government nor other
people should obstruct or interfere them. At the same time, there are
still some other policies we should concern:
Firstly, the economic
status of women in communities and families should be ensured and improved.
Secondly, it should be treated as a systemic work to assure the safety
of women who have been out. Finally, the phenomenon of women's going
out should be adjusted and solved according to the specific situation
of communities and different gender notion of different minorities.
